csv narrow column width resulting in blank cells

Hello,

I have the recurring issue in Power BI with some of the csv files. When I open the csv file it happens that some of the columns are too narrow to show the full name in the cell, eg.

When I upload the file to PBI all the "#####" cells are uploaded as blank.

Did anyone have a similiar issue and managed to solve it?

Thanks

Thanks all for answers.

After days of investigation it turned out that the whole issue was caused by "Unexpected error: Evaluation was cancelled" in the Power Query. Somehow csv was not laoding properly. After clicking "Retry" on all those errors issue disappeared.

Hi @PshemekFLK ,

Based on my test using power bi desktop Version: 2.79.5768.1082 64-bit (March 2020). I cannot reproduce your issue here. Could you please update your Power bi desktop and check agian?

Have you verified the CSV is corrrect? It looks like the tool exporting to CSV is actually dropping in ###### in those columns and treating it as text. Open the CSV in Notepad and look

DAX is for Analysis. Power Query is for Data Modeling

CSV is correct. If you resize the columns they show correct dates. The only issue is that it narrows the column so it becomes "#####".

That honestly makes no sense at all, I will have to test that out because if that is the case, it is bizarre.
