Why Difference in Excel and Power BI-Power Query

Hi,

I have identified that their huge difference in Excel and Power BI, like below example

1. In Power BI Power Query when we connect to the website, we have the option on the bottom left-hand side "Add table using examples"

2. Point 1 is not available in Excel Power Query

If i copy the Power BI Power Query code from Advance Editor and the same is pasted in Excel Powe Query Advance Editor it doesn't work..

Since both Power Query has the same concepts, why both are not working the same.

Thanks,

K Raghavneder Rao

Because Power BI is new, stand alone software with no dependencies other than itself. It is in a monthly release cycle for Desktop and daily releases for the service. Excel on the other hand is a part of Microst Office. The release cycle therefore is joined at the hip with the Office Suite. The Excel team cannot deploy outside of that cycle.  The net result is Power BI will always be the most up to date version.

I will not give you bad advice, even if you unknowingly ask for it.
