Type changed in Power Query BUT not changed in Power Desktop

Hi everyone!

I'm trying to change the type of one column. I changed it's type in Power Query by right clicking on it. Then I applied the changes and went back to Power Desktop. I found the type was not been changed when I tried to do the visualization.

Does anyone know what's going on? Many thanks for your help!

Hi @Anonymous ,

Did you check if the type of column you changed in the last step is correct?

Could you please tell me what column type did you change?

As a workaournd, you could change your data type in Desktop.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Can you provide an example (screenshot) of what the column looks like in Power Query, and also what the Column Tools tab on the Desktop ribbon looks like when you select this column in Desktop please?
