Switching the dataflow from Semantic Model

Hi,

I have created dataflow with Enhanced Engine Settings "ON" for direct query. And I have created report using the dataflow & published the report in Development workspace.  However, I would like to deploy the report for SIT, so I created another dataflow in SIT workspace. Now, when I try to point the report to the dataflow created in SIT using Power Query, the query settings are being changed from DirectQuery to Import. Please find the screenshot attached & advise. Thank you in advance.

Hi @Anonymous ,

I tested it and found that I encountered the same error at the Source step. But after clicking Close and apply, in the model view I found the table is under DirectQuery mode.

Please ensure that the enhanced compute engine is enabled in Dataflow under SIT and check that the report refreshes normally. If so, please ignore this error.

Best Regards,
Gao

Thanks you @v-cgao-msft. But, the changes are not being applied & throws the error.

Also, I observed the updated data from Google Big Query is not being reflected on report without refreshing the dataflow, though the report using DirectQuery.

FYI Please - I kept Enhanced Engine "ON" for the dataflow.

Dataflow and Direct Query are not compatible.  What you get is a datamart (Azure SQL instance) bolted on in front of the dataflow.  Redesign your process to eliminate unneccesary components.
