Does anyone know if there are plans to introduce EntraID authentication for Azure PostgreSQL flexible server any time soon? As far as i can tell the only option now is to connect via username and password. Azure data studio already has this option.

Hi @peter75 ,
As of now, you can already use Microsoft Entra ID authentication with Azure Database for PostgreSQL Flexible Server.

Yes but that is a very cumbersome way to authenticate for end users.
Hi @peter75
As per my knoweledge , as of now, Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server only supports username and password authentication. There is no confirmed timeline for introducing Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) authentication. Keep an eye on Azure updates for future announcements.

Thanks for the info. But it begs the question: why bother promoting the entra integration when none of the user facing tooling seems to support it?
