Hi,
Our data sources (each with its own query) are updated as and when needed, leading to several versions over weeks or months. This also means that there are older queries which will never receive any new data, but we need the earlier entered data to be available.
We have set up some analysis sheets in Excel and also dashboards in Power BI. There are so many older versions now that the refreshes take too long in both Excel and Power BI and also puts unnecessary strain on our servers. In Power BI I have unticked the refresh option from the Query Editor, but it only works with Desktop. The service still updates all the queries.
How can I set our older queries to have only static data and not refresh?
Solved! Go to Solution.
You do this by switching them to incremental refresh.

Thanks for the reply, but how do I do this in Power BI and Excel Power Query?
I only have the Pro subscription, if that matters.
here's the documentation

unfortunately this is only available in Premium.
