Hi All, Not sure if I can do this in Power Bi but I am trying to do the following.
I have setup a daily job from our warehouse database, but as the data is replaced daily there is no historic record for me to create trends. What I want to do is take a snapshot of the total value in a column once a week, I currently do this on a Monday and just fill in a spreadsheet for the total value of that column each week with the date.
This gives me something like this covering many weeks.
| Date | Stock Value | Blocked Stock Value |
| 01/01/2023 | 7600000 | 450000 |
| 08/01/2023 | 6500000 | 520000 |
Is there a way for Power Bi to take a snapshot of the column value and the date the snapshot was taken to try and automate this?
Not the news i wanted but thanks for taking the time to reply.
Power BI has no memory* . You need to manage your snapshots in the upstream system.
* Yes, there is the self referencing option but that has no safety net.
