Sharepoint List Extract Records = very slow apply query, plz help

i have one sharepoint list as data source which has 122 columns and many of them as "records". I want to extract two columns and get some fields BUT doing so when I apply the changes it is very slow. It took roughly more than five hours to apply the changes. Is there a better way to get the data from the records to improve speed??
