Shared mailbox

Hi

I'm connecting to a shared mailbox. Works fine in desktop when I select UPN. Data refreshes fine.

Now, in the service portal I must configure credentials, and choose either basic/oath2 options. I tried both, using same account as in desktop, both returns a status 400 and "We were unable to use the provided Exchange credential to connect"

Any clues on what to try would be hugely appreciated 🙂

Thanks

@Anonymous,

What do you mean "select UPN"? Do you connect to Exchange Online or Exchange? When you connect to Exchange Online, please choose "Microsoft Account" in Power BI Desktop, and then choose OAuth2 authentication in Power BI Service.

Hi @Anonymous ,

I'm having a similar issue with connecting a shared mailbox to the Power BI services.

I'm successful with connecting to it on the Power BI Desktop and using the Exchange Online connector and my Microsoft account.

But after publising it and trying to connect the data source credentails with OAuth2 authentication in Power BI Service, I get an error that my credentails cannot be used for the Exhange source. My account has access to the shared mailbox. Am I missing somthing?

Hi Lydia

I use an Exchange Account. Here is the UPN enabled dialog (sorry I think the screenshots was in my post, but something went wrong).

This is the dialog in service (just in case)

Thanks for helping out 🙂
