Round column values based on number of decimals in another column

Hello,

I can round down column values using the following function:

Number.Round(_, 2)

Instead of using a constant number of decimals places (e.g. 2 above), can I link this to the value in another column? e.g.

Number.Round(_, [Decimal Places Column])

Thanks

Yes.  That formula will work, if the [Decimal Places Column] is an integer data type.

I added another column to do the rounding calculation and the query works OK now.

Thanks.

@Hi @mahoneypat & @Anthony_W,

It may not be that simple and depends on the context. The one that you provide seems to relate to column transformation. This function ignores all other columns, therefore they cannot be referred to (easily). However, you can create a new column referring to the original number and the number of decimals columns/field.

Kind regards,

John

Thanks.
