Sorry, new to this.
I have an MI database that can save either an excel or csv file to a shared folder or to one drive.
Our IT is struggling with the Gateway, so I'm going with onedrive?
1. Is it better to have a CSV or Excel file?
2. Do I use this to create a new PBIX file in Power BI Desktop, save that to OneDrive and publish to Power BI, or
3. Ignore Desktop, go to Power BI and then pick up the CSV or Excel file via Get Data / Files and build in there.
I want the original file to be refreshed overnight, and then management to see the updated graphs when they walk in the next morning. Without a Gateway (which has stumped our IT provider), I'm not sure how to do this.
Any process/guide welcome to help me choose the type of file, where to save it, whether I use PowerBI or PowerBI Desktop.
thanks,

Regards,
Has anyone figured out how to use a folder in Onedrive as a location? This works for me for a single file, but I am looking to point to an entire folder.
Thank you!
