Refresh error

Having around 13 tables . Whenever am refreshing the power bi report In front end, ended up getting error in one particular table. And it's gets resolved when I go to power query editor and clicked the refresh preview. And got  error like error in sheet1 when am refreshing it first time, and error in sheet2 when refreshing it for second time, goes on.so tried to delete that table which causing error . Showing that since it is being referenced by other queries: "errors in sheet1",  'errors in sheet2",...can't delete this table. And it seems like the errors query getting multiplied each time after refresh. Is it safe to Remove all the error table . Will it affect the data model ? or any other solution??

Hi @Maha16 ,

Thank you for reaching out. Could you please tell us if your problem has been solved?

If so, please accept the helpful reply as solution, more people will benefit from it.

If not, please provide us with more detailed information about the issue.

In addition to that, here are a few steps you can try to resolve the common refresh issue:

Check Data Source Access: Check if the original table that is causing the error. Ensure that the data source is accessible and the data is in the expected format.
Error Handling: Implement error handling in Power Query. You can use the try...otherwise expression to manage errors gracefully.
Refresh Order: Ensure that the tables are refreshed in the correct order. Sometimes dependencies between tables can cause issues if not refreshed sequentially.

Hello @Maha16,

Removing error tables shouldn’t affect your data model as long as no other queries or tables are directly dependent on them.

I'd suggest the following long-term recommendations:

  • Simplify query dependencies where possible. If multiple queries depend on a problematic table, consider creating intermediate tables or staging queries.
  • Use functions like Table.RemoveErrors or Table.ReplaceErrors to ensure the refresh process handles unexpected data issues gracefully.
  • Setup monitor the quality of the data being imported, especially if it comes from external sources prone to errors.

Hope this helps.
