Query Evaluation failed

Hi everyone

I am getting the message "Query Evaluation failed for query: Rep20C".  In Power Query, the refresh worked without problems. Here is the whole report if anyone can help:

I would change the data sources to CSV or Parquet, and put the CSV files on a SharePoint.  Embarrassingly the Power BI SharePoint folder connector does not support larger Parquet files.

How many rows do your expect to get back?

The query table is roughly around 3 million 😞 it does load in power query but in the report it does not

Hi @genesisvega ,

May I ask if you have resolved this issue? If so, please mark the helpful reply and accept it as the solution. This will be helpful for other community members who have similar problems to solve it faster.

Thank you.

There are different timeout limits on the desktop and in the service.

What is the data source?

There are multiple sources that feed the pbi:

genesisvega_0-1740067135487.png

if its a timeout issue, would it be best to move the report somewhere else?

I would change the data sources to CSV or Parquet, and put the CSV files on a SharePoint.  Embarrassingly the Power BI SharePoint folder connector does not support larger Parquet files.

Hi @genesisvega ,

Thank you @lbendlin  for providing the valid point.
Please follow the below steps:

  • Apply filters in Power Query to limit the number of rows loading into the report.
  •  Ensure that Power Query is pushing transformations back to the data source to improve performance.
