Python & R Missing From Power Query Editor.

Yesterday I recieved an update for PowerQuery.
This seems to have removed Python & R as an option.

Neither Python nor R appear in the Transform bar - Stopping me from adding Python queries..

When double clicking on existing Python functions, the' Run Python Scripts' window isn't displayed.

Is Python & R support being removed from the Power Query Editor?
& if not, is there a way for me to go back to the older Power Query Editor until it is added to the new version?

Hi Yolo Zhu,

Thanks for replying.

I do have Python setup in the options
(I've been using Python in Power Queries for the past few weeks)

Just to confirm - PowerBi documents which already contain Python script(s) continue to work.

However, if I try to edit the script (via the advanced editor), any changes throw the error:

(Note: Clicking continue does nothing)

IF I try to paste code into a script (via the advanced editor), it throws the error:

I did try uninstalling and reinstalling (installing from the Microsoft Store).
It didn't make any difference.
However, I did notice, when launching PowerBI after re-installation that the 'Recent' file list remained populated.
(I don't know if there are any extra steps required to filly clear PowerBI from the system).
I will try uninstalling & reinstalling again today.

Thanks!

Hi @sjl_74

The python and r are displayed in the Power query editor.

You can click 'Files->Option and settings->Option' then click 'R scripting' and 'Python scripting' to check that if your installations are right. If it still doesn't work, please consider to  reinstall Power BI Desktop.

Hi Yolo Zhu....

So, just to confirm:

Python is working with .pbix dashboards created before the update.
(So presumably it is setup correctly)

I have also uninstalled, rebooted the sytsem & resintalled PowerBi (via the Microsoft Store)
Unfortunatly it has had no effect

Is there a way for me to revert back to the previous Power Query Editor?
Or, are there any steps to can reccommend to ensure I have cmpletly removed all traces of PowerBi from my system after I uninstall?
