I have an excel file in Sharepoint online and I have another excel connected to this path to update the values every time they change.
If I execute the Update data query from Excel on the desktop, it works without incident. the problem is when the user updates it in excel online, since it tells us that it is not possible. microsft recently updated this tool in excel online so queries to sql tables or files in web mode do not work.
how can i correct this?
After re-reading your original post, I now understand what your issue is.
If you can use a Sharepoint List instead of an Excel file, you can easily achieve this using power automate (Link)
thank you for your answer. I am not lying to you when I say that the solution that you indicate me will not be applied, can you explain to me how I could do it. Thanks a lot
If your excel is just a table, try to use Sharepoint List instead of Excel.
This is possible using Power automate flow. You need to upload excel file to SharePoint/OneDrive, then you can read the excel rows using Power automate and then update SharePoint list items.
