Hi, we have a lot of PowerBI reports that are based on data from Dataflows. However, it seems there has been some changes lately?
We get this error message when trying to open the reports in PowerBI Desktop.
PowerBINonFatalError:
{"AppName":"PBIDesktop","AppVersion":"2.118.828.0","ModuleName":"Microsoft.PowerBI.Client.Windows.dll","Component":"Microsoft.PowerBI.Client.Windows.Services.PowerBIDataModelHelpers+<CreateLocalDatabase>d__2","Error":"Microsoft.PowerBI.Client.Windows.Storage.FileOpenException","MethodDef":"MoveNext - PFE_M_ENGINE_INTERNAL","ErrorOffset":"502","ErrorCode":"DataModelLoadFailed"}
InnerException0.Stack Trace Message:
M motorfeil: Microsoft.Data.Mashup; The given data source kind is not supported. Data source kind: PowerPlatformDataflows..
Are Dataflow deprecated? What is the alternative without connecting directly to the source?
Thank you for your reply guys. I suppose my problem is new/different. It might be so because I am calling dataflows from workspaces in different capacities, or maybe the size of the dataflow is to big, or I have some problems with my gateway. If I find a solution, I will share it here. Thanks!
Hello @Alex87 , @thosor ,
I'm not 100% sure but maybe you're using the old Dataflow Connector? I recommend creating the same query with the new connector.
If that doesn't work, I would try copying the query to a new .pbix file to see if it works there.
Best regards from Germany
