PowerBI App not refreshing on-premise data, works in PowerBI Desktop. Status Code 400 error

This has been working fine until Friday last week. However, today, when we try to refresh data (SQL Server on-premise), getting the following error message:

Oops, something went wrong.

Failed to load data sources
Activity Id8f2d86c3-d869-4652-b92b-2e4af6fb00dd
Request Idd9dab4e8-d079-2c7c-31a1-ded6cedca6ac
Status Code400

Version11.0.9167.879

Note, the power bi desktop refresh is working fine. I verified the Gateway, it is up and running. I tried going to Schedule Refresh to check data source credentials, I get the same error message.

Any thoughts on why this is happening and how to resolve?

I'm seeing the exact same thing, and it started the same time frame this poster referenced his errors.  My error codes are the same as well.  I am using an SQL Server source on internal network and had a properly configured Gateway running for a few weeks now with no errors.

Further, rebuilding my query in Desktop Designer allowed it to function properly.  Its almost as though the designer file is not properly formatted.

It also appears this coincides with a new release of features with iPhone app version 4.6 and a new browser (refresh button appears within reports and dashboards was the first feature I saw I didn't have before this date)...

bkcampbe, yes very strange that it started yesterday.

Our queries are very complex and not easy to rebuild, especially since there are production reports associated with this.

I expect Microsoft to support their product and provide solutions on why these issues are happening. Maybe this product is not ready for primetime in a multi billion $ industry.

@mirzay Did anything change in your underlying data source/set that could have caused the issues?

Nothing changed. This has been deployed into production in a controlled environment.

An update, refresh is working once again as of a few minutes ago. No changes were made in our environment (infrastructure) or any other data related changes. Not knowing what caused this and having to support this in a global implementation is a cause of concern.

Thank you for the suggestion. Just sent feedback. However, I feel we may not get an immediate resolution as our reports are in production and not refreshing.

I feel we are testing PowerBI for Microsoft in GA release. This is a work in progress product in my opinion.
