Hi PBI community,
Hope you to get some help here.
A colleague of mine gets the error "Exception of 'Microsoft.Mashup.Engine.Interface.ResourceAccessForbiddenException" when she tries to refresh a power query workbook. The power query file was created by me and uses excel files located in a common sharepoint site that is accessbile by everyone in the group. I have had team members getting this error previously which has been fixed by entering the user name and password when prompted through the data source settingsPower Query resource error
However, this seems to be different as whatever we try, the error keeps popping up. We even tried clearing all permissions from the datasource settings but that didn't work either( as suggested in the techforums). I have previously shared this report with another colleague in the team and there was no problem refreshing the data. If it helps, my colleague has synced the Sharepoint Site to File explorer. She has tried downloading from the Sharepoint Site. She has also tried testing it out in her personal laptop. But none of this seems to fix the issue
Any suggestions how to resolve this? Can working offsite, remotely be a cause for this ? We have been working remotely for the past few months. Not sure if that should really matter as it works for me and for another colleague
Thanks in advance
Hi @Anonymous ,
Based on view similar post, this problem seems to be more related to permission and credential. When users connect to file, did they get any credential windows? You need to make sure current users could access this file, users could try to open this file directly instead of by Excel to see whether it work or not. Then try to clear all permission in datasource and try to re-sign in when the credential windows pop up.
By the way, you also could try to update the Excel to see whether work or not.
Best Regards,
Zoe Zhi

Hi Zoe,
Thanks for your prompt reply
We all have access to the same sharepoint site as we are all part of the same team. This report is in Excel which all team members have access to. I tried the solution suuggested in the tecforums
But nothing seems to working. My colleague has the same access to the files and sharepoint sites as I do. What I can't understand is why it is working for the rest of the team but not for just one colleague
I tried clearing permisssions in the datasource settings, etc. I am just not sure what could be the problem
