Power Query for MAC, missing xml option.

Hello there,
it looks like there is not an option for importing xml files with Power Query on Excel for MAC.
Is it something you can address in the near future?
Thank you

Hi Jing,

Thank you for your message.

I have version 16.58 installed on my MAC. I do have this menu that unfortunately would not allow me to get and transform data from a xml single file or mutiple selection, that is the feature I am interested in.

It would allow me only to import the xml file, something that I could do by opening the xml file with a text editor and copy and paste the content into my excel spreadsheet.

The feature I would like to have on my Excel is available on Power Query for Windows, Get and Transform Data:

As an example please refer to this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cLQl-7pHZM&t=356s from minute 8 onwards.

Best regards

Celestino

Hi @celext

Thank you for the video. Unfortunately importing XML file into Power Query Editor in Excel for Mac is not available currently. Importing data from multiple files in a local folder is not available either.

Currently, in Excel for Mac, it is possible to import data from local Excel workbooks or text & CSV files. Additional data sources will be added in the future. But I'm not sure when they will come.

You can refer to below links to get more updates about Power Query in Excel for Mac. It seems there will be some updates next month.

Hi @celext

See if these links help:

Excel for MAC 2016(or 2019): How to import XML file into - Microsoft Community

Import Xml Into Excel For Mac - dancelittle (weebly.com)

From the first link, it says:

The Import XML file to Excel feature is now available on Excel for Mac version 16.31 and newer, you can go Data>From Text and then choose the XML file. *Please note: this feature is only available on version 16.31 and newer, you could go Excel>About Excel to check the version.

I don't have a Mac to test this. So please let us know if it works or not. Thank you in advance.
