Power Query Custom Connector for Excel

Hello, i was testing custom connector development with power bi. I was able to develop an rest example. But i need to use the same connector from Excel. Is there any options to use the *.mez file into excel like in power bi desktop? I do not want to user the power query editor inside excel, i want to add an excel data source using the power query connector that i have been developed.

Is this possible?
