Power BI browser refresh error

Hi,

I'm getting an intermittent error when clicking the "refresh" icon in a Power BI report online.  The error is:

"The connection to the Analysis Services instance timed out or was lost.  Ensure that the server and the SQL Browser service are running"

The report is connecting to an on-premise SSAS 2014 Tabular model via the Enterprise Gateway and an HTTP PUMP link.  It works fine most of the time but other times happens alot.  I ran profiler on the tabular server and can see queries hitting the server when I refresh the report.  When I looked at the Power BI Enterprise Gateway logs I saw errors:

[DM.Pipeline.Common] Non-gateway exception encountered in activity scope: Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient.AdomdConnectionException: The connection either timed out or was lost. ---> System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (503) Server Unavailable.
at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse()
at Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient.HttpStream.GetResponseStream()
at Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient.HttpStream.GetResponseDataType()

The error happens instantly, in that I click "refresh" and the error will appear immediately.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks

Andy

@Anonymous This seems more of an analysis service issue than Power BI. I found this article for you to use and troubleshoot this issue.
