I have a Power BI report, for which the source is SharePoint and has almost 20000 items. The Power BI get the site pages list from the sharepoint. The Power BI report has a keyword search field that is used to get the row that contains the word entered in the search field. The search field is configured with a canvas content field that is fetched from the site pages
The Canvas Content is an html field. When this report is scheduled to power bi service, it is getting timeout after running for almost 5 hrs. Has anyone tried to get the site page contents from sharepoint in power bi?
Please see this article for a faster way to get SharePoint list data. If it works for you, please report back with how much improvement you see.
Updated – Get SharePoint List Data … Fast – Hoosier BI

Hi @Anonymous ,
It seems that you are experiencing a timeout issue when scheduling a Power BI report that retrieves data from SharePoint. One possibility is that SharePoint lists have a limit of 5,000 items per view, which can cause performance issues when retrieving large amounts of data.
Regarding your specific issue, it is possible that the timeout is caused by the large amount of data being retrieved from SharePoint.
One workaround is to remove or filter out unnecessary data in Power Query. For example, you can use a filter to retrieve only the items that were modified in the last 30 days.
Another workaround is to filter out the required data in the data source, that is, SharePoint, in advance to avoid importing too much unnecessary data into Power BI.
Additionally, you can try optimizing the performance of your report.
