Hello 🙂
I have created the table below as an example since I can't share real data.
I have an excel file that sotres data from several cases during several days. My number of cases is around 200,000 and my number of days should be around 365 days (a year) but it can also be a shorter number (100). This file is updated every day and a column is added to the sheet everyday.
I need to plot a curve for each case that shows the evolution over the year, from day 1 to day 365. This would correspond to plot a row of the query instead of a column (see figure).
I have not found a visual in power BI that allows me to plot data from a row of the query. Even if I try to do this manually, by selecting a row in each column, the plot function will create new plots and not recognise the values as being togheter, because they belong to different query columns. I can't use the transpose function in power query because that would create a query with 200,000 columns and 365 rows and power BI crashes.
Is there a way to fix this without having to create transposed sub-excel sheets with only with a few cases and a few columns? Also, if I create 2,000 excel sheets with 100 columns and import them all, can I guarantee that power BI won't crash anyway?
Another idea would be to organise the 2,000 excel sheets and only import the ones the user decides to plot. Is there a way to do this? Based on multiple filters, click on a buttun and import a specific excel file out of 2,000?
Thank you for your time. Have a good day 🙂

It looks like a case of Unpivotting those columns. Then you put the new Day column on the axis and plot the Value.

Uau such a simple thing and it actually worked quite well 🙂 Thank you so much!
If anyone else has other suggestions they are welcome as well 🙂
