Hi PQ frens,
So I am having an issue with multiple mapping.
We currently have two kinds of mapping for our reporting hierarchy.
One is for the internal management and one is for the group.
The internal management hierarchy is defined by Cost Center/Department which is straight forward.
The mapping for the group is complex where it has two defining factors, GL and Department combined.
In order to get the right expense group, I have to get GL & Department together.
I am trying to define this mapping for my model but I just can't figure out how.
Will appreciate your support on this!
Hi @zubairs,
On the attached screenshot, I can see Cost element (I assumed it is GL code), but don't see the CC code. Also, there are two expense groups: GL Group and OPEX group.
Would you mind explaining a bit more of your challenge?
I was wondering if the challenge you have is because of 1-to-many relationship mapping to cost group and required split?
Sorry for not understanding well of your challenge.
Regards
KT
Hi @KT_Bsmart2gethe,
appreciate the response.
Yes Cost Element is "GL Code"
There are no codes for Cost Center when it comes to the group mapping. So it is currently being mapped based upon the submission source. The submission source has Cost Center mapping but that is used only for management reporting.
For the expense groups, the hierarchy is as follows:
Main Group = OPEX Group (BPC MIS) Marketing, selling & distribution expenses
Sub Group= GL Group (BPC MIS) Others
Hi @zubairs ,
I am still a bit unclear about the challenge and desired outcome.
Are you thinking of using one mapping table for both internal and group reporting?
Would you be able to draft the desired outcome? say in excel?
I am trying to visualise the use of the mapping and link to the star schema. What fields do you have in the source data (i.e. the GL Summary? GL detailed transactions? or?)
Regards
