I'm building a report in Power BI Desktop to pull emails via the Exchange Online connector. All emails are native to Microsoft Outlook in Microsoft cloud. There are no on-premises mailboxes, nothing out of the ordinary. Think of it as the simplest case possible.
I only need last month's emails. The Exchange Online connector pulls all emails since the inception of the mailbox, then applies my date filter. So, in some cases, it pulls 200K entries, only to filter it down to 500 entries after already downloading the entire 200K entries. It's quite inefficient, especially when multiplied by the 70+ mailboxes I'm pulling data for.
Seems Power Query isn't folding my query.
I know we can use other tools outside of Power BI to build our dataset, but that's not what I'm looking for.
Is it possible to send parameters through the Exchange Online connector to fetch a subset of emails using Power Query inside the Power BI platform? Do you know of any good documentation on this?
Graph was my first choive but is way too slow. I've used it in other projects but somehow it takes forever to pull emails.
Hi @PBISupport ,
How about use Graph API?
