Hi folks,
Been struggling with this for nearly 2.5 hours.
My model used to work. I have a sales table. And I have a currency dimension created from a webscraping function query. I connect the two via a key with is the sales month & currency.
I merged the currency dimension to the sales table and expand a column called "Units per GBP". I see all the expected values. So far all good.
However, when i close and load and go to the modelling view, that column is blank. WHY?!?!
There could be several reasons why the column "Units per GBP" is blank in the modeling view. Here are a few potential solutions:
Check the data types: Make sure that the data types of the columns being merged are compatible. For example, if the column in the currency dimension is formatted as text, it may not merge correctly with a column in the sales table that is formatted as a number.
Check the merge keys: Make sure that the merge keys are unique and that there are no duplicates. If there are duplicates, this can cause unexpected results in the merged table.
Check the query settings: If the webscraping function query that generates the currency dimension has been modified, it may be worth checking the query settings to ensure that the correct data is being pulled in.
Check the column names: Make sure that the column names in both tables match. If there are any discrepancies in the column names, the merge may not work correctly.
Check the filters: Check if there are any filters applied in the Power Query Editor that may be hiding the values in the "Units per GBP" column.
Refresh the data: It's possible that the data in the merged table hasn't refreshed properly. Try refreshing the data in the modeling view by clicking on "Refresh" under the "Home" tab.
Hopefully one of these solutions helps to resolve the issue.
relationships are correct, i can still use the dimension via the modelling and the data shows in power query, it just doesn't show in the front end.
Are your relationships still correct?
