Is there a way to manually delete a row in the dataset in power query? other then the usual options
You can try this
Let us say you have 1000 rows in your table (count rows option)
And there is one row that has all null values and you do not need it in further transfromations and want to remove. let us say that is row 2.
Remove rows > remove Alternate Rows >First row to remove give it 2 ( row 2), Number of rows to remove -1 ( As we need to remove only one row), Number of rows to keep - 999 ( As after removing one row remaining is 999 out of 100) then OK.
Hope this helps
Thank you.
How do you know what row to delete?
If it's a row that has a certain value (or blank), you can create a filter.
If it's related to the row number, then you can add an index and filter the index column to remove the row.
This will delete the first row ( power query is index 0)
= Table.AlternateRows(Source,0,1,Table.RowCount(Source))
And here is my understanding of how it works.
= Table.AlternateRows(
Previous Step ,
0 = first row ,
1 = only remove one row ,
Table.RowCount(Previous Step) = Keep all rows)
