I am trying to extract just the first line of text in a cell. I have a column that has multiple lines of text and I just want the first line. I cannot use Power BI because that doesn't allow to print reports, so it must be done only in Power Query or Excel only. See example of my data below. I tried using character limit of like 20 characters, but it still extracts the first 20 on each line and still returning multiple lines of text. Thank you!

Hi,
I had a similar issue and ended up using split column by delimeter to get the text I was after:
= Table.SplitColumn(#"Previosu Step", "Project Expenses", Splitter.SplitTextByDelimiter("#(lf)", QuoteStyle.Csv), {"Description.1", "Description.2"})
it seems that "#(lf)" = line return
Thanks,
Thank you that worked! I actually extracted text before delimiter #(lf) and that did that trick.
