Get Data from Microsoft Dynamics AX

Hi there.

Is the any plans to add a service to be able to get data from Dynamics AX 2012 to create analytical reports on Power BI?

If there is any plans for that could you let us know a timeframe please?

I agree but don't forget that there is a 250mb limit in the service right now so you probably wouldn't be able to load too much data at transaction level anyway...

would something like OData work or would volumes be too big?

not a Dynamics expert, but I found an article that talks about OData and Dynamics AX, it maybe outdate by now, but maybe it will start you on a course you have not yet considered.

Thanks for sharing the link.
But, as you stated the volume of data would be too big for OData.
So having a service in Power BI webapp/designer would be the best option.

If not for 2012, it would be great for AX 2015 or 'Rainier' as it is web based
