Get Data from Microsoft Dynamics AX
Hi there. Is the any plans to add a service to be able to get data from Dynamics AX 2012 to create analytical reports on Power BI? If there is any plans for that could you let us know a timefram...
would something like OData work or would volumes be too big?
not a Dynamics expert, but I found an article that talks about OData and Dynamics AX, it maybe outdate by now, but maybe it will start you on a course you have not yet considered.

But, as you stated the volume of data would be too big for OData.
So having a service in Power BI webapp/designer would be the best option.
