I have the following situationn.
I've a central MS Access Database which contains almost all the data that I want to analyse.
I have a PBI model with ~ 50 queries based on the tables of the above Access database.
Whenever I go for the "Refresh All" option to refresh all my data, this is what happens :
The queries start pulling in data from the access file and all of a sudden stops because "The Access file is already in use" .
However no other program uses that access file and I can see that the file is 'locked' because PBI is accessing it.
My guess is that when one query loads, it opens the file and before it is done, another tries to do the same and hence the error is generated.
Any workaround for this folks ? It is a pain to refresh each of the 50 queries manually. Also, I've disabled parallel loading of tables.
I'm currently on an i7 , 12 GB RAM , 5400 RPM HDD. Will upgrading to an SSD help solve this ?
@akdoro,
What version of Power BI Desktop do you use? As your post, you have disabled "Enable parallel loading of tables" option, I would recommend you close all PBIX files, and close all Power BI Desktop processes in task manager, then re-open the PBIX file and check if you can refresh it.
Regards,
Lydia
