Enable Load option missing

After creating a merge query, I want to disable the load of the source queries, but the Enable Load option is missing. I've made sure Office is up to date and I've done a quick repair.

Hi @bgilbert , In Excel, you do not Enable Load from Power Query. Close Power Query, then in the main Excel window, go to the Data ribbon, and make sure Queries & Connections is selected so the below panel shows up.

Right-click on the query you want to load and select "Load to..."

The reason for this is in Power BI, there is only one way to load data - to the data model. In Excel though, you can load to:

  • A true Excel Table
  • A PivotTable Report
  • A Pivot Chart
  • and Optionally load to the Data Model with any or none of those for Power Pivot.

Additionally there are other options in the Properties button that are specific to Excel. None of this is relevant to Power BI, so you can load from Power Query straight into the Power BI Data Model.

Hi @bgilbert ,

Which data source you are using or entering data directly? I have tested in my environment and the Enable load option still works fine after merging tables.

You can try to use the latest version of power bi desktop to check whether it still has the same issue.

I'm doing this in Excel Power Query. My data source is Oracle.
