Dynamic parameter for datasource connection in pbit

Hi All,

Since some time I am trying to solve this problem:

• I have to share a report via powerbi template .pbit with end users
• Users must be able to edit the datasource connection details via parameter
• The solution must be dynamic - not a static dropdown of available values

I tested this using a separate query (.xlsx table for now) with desired list of values to be used within the parameter. My findings are the following:

• the list if vaues is dynamic - so the connection to this source is working fine
• after selecting the parameter value other queries fail (databrics connection) with below message. Both are reffering the last step in PQ, which is not referencing other queries or steps.
• interestingly there is also a third query (using exactly the same datasource and parameter) and it's not listed i nthe error message

Just to make it clear - this additional excel data source is only for my own testing purposes. In final shape I would store this information in databrics as well.

Could you please help me solve this or suggest any other solution?
