Hi all,
Does databricks supports query folding?
I’m connecting to “DATABRICKS” as source for my power BI dashboard and I’m doing a couple of transformations in power query like filter data, rename, remove columns, merge to another table from same source etc., which supports query folding. But view native query option is disabled in my file against these steps though I’m doing them before the non-foldable steps.
When I did a query diagnostic in power query, a “DatasourceQuery” is populated for all these foldable steps. Whereas the non-foldable steps like change datatype, split column by delimiter etc. did not have “DatasourceQuery” populated, and I could see an operation named “OBDCQueryDomain: ReportFoldingFailure” against these non-foldable steps. Does that mean query folding is actually happening in my PBIX file for the foldable steps?
Could anyone help me understand the ways to check if query folding is actually happening in your PBIX even though view native query is disabled?
Thanks in advance,
