Disable column in Power Query Editor

Hi,

I am frequently update the power query file from different excel file inside the folder.

In source file I need to enter comments manually.

Once I enter comments in power query file and when I refresh the file, mannualy enterd commnets gets replaced with data from the files it gets synchronized.

My question: Is there any way we can diable specific column in Power Query editor so that the manually enterd comments will not gets replaced with actual datas from raw file?

Hello @Sibi05 ,

Unfortunately there is no feature to "lock" or to "Disable" any column in powerquery.

But as an alternative you can keep your comments in a separate table and then merge that table back into the main query after the refresh.

If you find this helpful , please mark it as solution which will be helpful for others and Your Kudos/Likes are much appreciated!
