Hi ,
Is it possible to connect to Oracle 11g using Power bi Direct Query. I tried setting up Gateway as well and was able to connect to the server from both Desktop as well as machine where the gateway was hosted (and wiith same server name) once published on service , it gives below error.
Hi @Anonymous
It is supported for Oracle 9 and later to connect to with Power BI.
If this error message occurs when opening reports on Power BI Service, it may be caused by following:
1. Gateway is not installed at the same server with Oracle client,
2. Gateway is personal model, but only on-premise gateway(enterprise).
3. the server and database names don'y match between Power BI Desktop and the data source within the on-premise data gateway.
4. the user is not listed in the User tab of the gateway.
Please refer to the details here.
Best Regards
Maggie
