Direct Connect - Changing Parameters On Demand

Do we know if changing parameters using direct connect is going to be available any time soon? This is a huge issue when building reports and dashboards in PowerBi as we need to change the report parameters on demand as needed to see different snapshots of information.

In Power BI Service, it is not possible to change parameter with DirectQuery connection currently. We are only able to use parameter in Query Editor of Power BI Desktop. For more details, please review the following blog.
