Hello,
I've these queries that have been running without issue for months now on dataflows. Since yesterday, however, a part of these queries is getting edited automatically, i think every time it gets refreshed.
The column names did not have the #"" earlier (except for names with special characters, of course) but now they're getting added on their own. It gets added each time i refresh.
How it starts:
How it ends:
i came to know abt this while investigating a datatype error for a column, in a dashboard that connects to this dataflow. This issue was unusual in itself because the dashboard has been running smoothly for months. Does this have to do with any updates in the M query script??
Edit: I also notice that two steps are getting added automatically at the end of this query. If I delete them, they get created again.
Edit2: What is happening is that the columns are losing their datatypes in the Table.Group step for some reason. And this is happening only to those columns which have names with more than one word, or if they have special characters. Seems like a purely script issue.
Do you have a Pro license? If yes then you may want to raise a ticket directly with Microsoft. This looks rather serious.

(I have seen the last two lines added as well. Ticked me off immensely, to the point that I abandoned my dataflow project. Well, that and the insistence of pushing the incremental refresh code back to the very end, no matter how much I moved it up.)
Yes, I've a pro license. But it is governed by my employer. When i try to raise a ticket on the portal you shared, it asks for some license details which I unfortunately do not have.
You should be able to pick these from the dropdown menu.
