DataSource.Error: Microsoft.Mashup.Engine1.Library.Resources.HttpResource: Request failed:

We have a Power BI Document which connects to our Navision Service Via an OData conenction. Usign an address Like below

= OData.Feed("http://IP Address Here : Port No. /Instance Name/OData/VendorList")

This connection works and we have been able to bring the correct data into power bi.

We are having an issue when we sometime refresh and this is a Mashup Error. It's very inconsistent yet very disruptive. We get the following Error Message.

DataSource.Error: Microsoft.Mashup.Engine1.Library.Resources.HttpResource: Request failed:
OData Version: 3 and 4, Error: The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request. (Bad Request)
OData Version: 4, Error: The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request. (Bad Request)
OData Version: 3, Error: The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request. (Bad Request)

To resolve this we can close the document and when we re open it it will allow us to refresh once, then on the second refresh it shows it again. Is there Any suggestions as to what's casuingt this or how to fix it.

Facing this issue while trying to connect VSO to PowerBI via ODATA feed

We since then have started restarting our ODATA service over night and that alone has semed to fix the issue, we have no idea why or a better soloution but for now it has worked..

We have begun experiencing this issue with connecting SharePoint Online lists just as of a few weeks ago. Existing connections still do work. Any ideas whether there is a workaround?

Hi @LewisH,

I would recommend you use Fiddler to monitor the Http traffic between Power BI Desktop and Nav, and check what is going on in the background.

Besides, do you encounter any issues when you schedule refresh for your dataset in Power BI Service?

Lydia Zhang
