In my small Excel file, the pa_2018 query has been loaded into the Data Model. 'pa_2018 removed columns' is a duplicate query with an additional step to remove other columns. But why can't 'pa_2018 removed columns' be loaded into the Data Model with the following error? Thanks.
[DataFormat.Error] The SELECT statement includes a reserve word or an argument name that is misspelled or missing, or the punctuation is incorrect.

Hi @Anonymous ,
Noticed that the data source in this report is Access Database, have you filtered any rows in the database before you import them into Power Query?
Looks like the query statement has nothing special.. You can also try to use Power BI Desktop to connect to the same source and duplicate the query again to check it again.

@v-yingjlThe data source is actually a .dbf file, which is imported unmodified into Access. Since both queries share the same data source, I don't believe that it's causing the DataFormat.Error. By simply not removing any column (deleting the step that caused the DataFormat.Error), I can continue transforming the query without errors.
Hi @Anonymous
I can't open that XLSX, I get an error saying it may be corrupted.
Are you loading data from a SQL database? That is where SELECT is used. Double check your native query code for errors.
Try deleting the query in error and recreating it.

Phil
