Data link or automated export from PowerBI to excel

First post here. Tried to search, but to no avail.

I am a novice PowerBI user, but have a decent understanding of excel. I use large datasets from various sources for report writing in excel. My source is a custom API (pqx) with various tables. Can I somehow export various tables simultaneously to excel (either manually or automated daily at a certain time), or best case scenario, have a pqx source update tables directly to excel?

Any advice will be much appreciated. Thank you

Hi @LancevdWalt

Build your data out into a Power BI Data Model with all relationships, measures etc. then publish it to the PBI Service.

Once it's there, you can connect directly to it via Excel and it will maintain a live connection to the latest state of the dataset:

You may need to install an additional provider on your computer to enable this, but it sounds like it doe what you want.

This is essentially the same as selecting "Analyse In Excel" from a dataset context menu in the PBI Service.
