Data import from SSAS cube

Hi everyone,

I have a SSAS cube,from which I import data in power BI report. While loading data, I get message that there is not enough memory. I have 64 GB of RAM and data size is more than 100k rows and approximately 20 columns. I tried to import some data separately, but Power BI can't detect data connection between these tables since I don't have unique values in category columns. How can I overcome the issue with memory or create data links in my case?

I already reduced data size, especially columns. I also tried to load data with 15 columns and it worked fine even on laptop with 8 GB of RAM, however, 20 columns were not supported by 64 GB.

@ysapiyev,

Do you use 32 bit or 64 bit Power BI Desktop? In your scenario, please use 64 bit Power BI Desktop in order to make better use of the memory in your machine. 

And from Power BI side, increase maximum allowed memory, and uncheck the following options. If you still get same error as before, I would recommend you use "Connect Live" mode to connect to SSAS in Power BI Desktop.


In addition, sometimes, the above error is caused by incorrect SSAS memory setting, please review this similar thread to troubleshoot this issue.
