Data Split

In Power BI other than the delimiter function what are some formulas that can be used to effectively separate diferent numbers and letters in the transform data section

1. Extract menu has 7 items which can be used depending upon your data and need

Length

First Characters

Last Characters

Range

Text before delimiter

Text after delimiter

Text between delimiter

2. Split column has 7 items which can be used depending upon your data and need

By delimiter

By no. of characters

By positions

By lowercase to uppercase

By uppercase to lowercase

By digit to non-digit

By non-digit to digit

3. These above one simulate many functions and make it easier for us to write the code.

4. Apart from this following can be used

4.1 to extract alphabets - Text.Select([Data],{"a".."z","A".."Z"})

4.2 to extract numbers - Text.Select(]Data],{"0".."9"})

 

Depending upon use cases, many other functions can be creatively used but I believe above ones will solve more than 95% of your needs.
