Custom Parameter Changer from User

Hello Together,

is it possible to create a text input box that actively changes a parameter?

For understanding:

I have a table with values and this should be able to be changed actively by the report user. E.g. as discount input

Total price - Discount

Is it possible to do this with a new column or a SQL query? The total prices are fixed in a SQL Database database. The discount field should be calculated after the user input and output.

Thanks for your help

Hi, @andmo ,

all right then, your Discount should be calculated as Measure.

Like this:

Discount = [Total Sum] * DIVIDE(SELECTEDVALUE(Parameter[Parameter]), 100)

Please note that the selectedvalue except a column from your parameter table and it can have different name.

Any kudos or recognition appreciated. To learn more on the topic, check out my blog and follow me on LinkedIn.

I will try to describe it better.
So i have a Table with Customer, Type, Total Preis and a Paramter Discount. When the user changes the parameter, the values in the table should also change.
The Discount column is calculated by Total*Paramter/100

Hello,

I am not exactly sure what you mean. But you can have parameters bind with predefined text options, so whenever the user selects in the report the option will then proceed in the actual SQL Query.

Here's nice tutorial how it works:
