Comparison sing inside dataset

kosa_seba_0-1684153314849.png

Hello, I am searching for help with this unique example.

I have in my dataset column with comparison sign.

Is it possible to compare Value and use sing from the column? I want to create one column with a flag if Value is in the specification

In the first example, 0 is in spec because it is below 20

In the second example, 1 is not equal to 0 and it is not

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Hi @kosa_seba ,

You would have to do this using a conditional column that defines what the text representation of the operator (Sign) means, and apply it to an appropriate calculation.

For example, your conditional column would have to be built something like this:

if [Sign] = "<" and [Value] < [SingValue] then "In Spec"
else if [Sign] = ">" and [Value] > [SingValue] then "In Spec"
else if [Sign] = "=" and [Value] = [SingValue] then "In Spec"
...
...
else // your escape value e.g. "Not In Spec", null etc.
