Combining .iqy data from sharepoint to power bi

Hi guys. quick noob question here. Been checking out the answer on "How to import .iqy data from sharepoint" and "Combining different files to power bi via "Append option"

But what I'm asking is that How can you do both? Let's say I have Sharepoint List A and Sharepoint List B (both .iqy extracted since columns are picked out per View rather than the whole sharepoint view). I want to combine both. I tried saving the .iqy file as excel so I can import excel files then combine both using the "Append method" but once I inserted a new line in let's say Sharepoint List A, and hit refresh in the power Bi site, the new ine is not reflecting.

Is there any other way to combine sharepoint data rather than the excel method i've mentioned before

P.S I've also tried to Get data from the main Sharepoint Site itself then just modify the list by removing the columns, but the autogenerated "Created by" Column does not show when imported to PBI

Hi There,

I trashed my approach for combining .iqy files since I am now directly importing files in sharepoint list. Although having the convenience of Lit view part is good option, I just opt to clean the extracted direct data from Sharpeoint list since when appended and refresh, it works perfectly fine

Use the SharePoint data source connectors?

Doubt anything to do with iqy files will work.

DAX is easy, CALCULATE makes DAX hard...

Already tried Getting data via sharepoint but the default view does not contain the "Created by" Column which I need that's why I originally though of the .iqy extract

Is there a way to create a new column to mimic the "Created by" column so it shows up the the columns imported to PBI. I creating a new column via calculated columns but the "Created by" column does not show in the options

Thanks, i tried to connect my sharepoint list with option 1 (note option 2 (beta)) and it works fine to expand lists & records  😉
