Changing Data Sources(OneDrive Excel and XML) and data credentials not reflecting

Hello,

I have some existing PowerBi models/reports running in the service and accessing XML and excel files on Onedrive through a personal gateway.

I have developed a new model/report using the same files on my laptop.   If I change the data sources of these files to match the other models/reports and publish, the service is saying I need the data credentials updates, HOWEVER, it is howing the paths for the local laptop, not what I updated the data source settings to before publishing.

Any ideas?

@DHawes,

I am not able to reproduce your issue. After I change data source in PBIX file and publish PBIX file to replace existing dataset, the file paths in Power BI Service also change.

Which file path do you change to?
