Hi ...
I have receveid 1 excel files that contains amount in short million format and succsesfully upload it in the Power BI environment.
Example : $17,464.8
1) Based on above example, how can I change those amount into full format of million in Power BI?
2) Can I directly change the format at the original columns instead of create additional columns in the table? .. If yes, how to do that ...
Thank you in advance.

Sorry! Forgot to mention how hehe. Here's how, go to Transform Data -> Select the column -> go to Transform ribbon menu -> Number Column -> Standard -> Multiply -> Type 1000 (in your case) -> Click OK and that's it 🙂

Check for these features in the data tab:
If data from original source comes explicitly as 6,154.57 then you do need to multiply it to convert it to millions, as Power BI understands the value explicitly.

Yes, 6,154.57 is original data that I have rcvd from the data owner.
Then you'll need to multiply it. You can do it in Power Query on the same column to avoid creating a new one or create a calculated column with DAX 🙂

You can do it on the Model tab from Power BI Desktop, select your field and go to Properties pane (middle right side of the screen). There go to Formatting menu and change the format to custom. There you can manually type any format you wish:
