Can't connect live to SSAS in Power bi desktop March release
Hi everyone,
I've got error while connecting live to SSAS in power bi. Error shows that my credentials are don't have permission to access them. However, when I use import instead of live connection, I see database and can import data. What is the issue for such behavior?

Yerkhan

@ysapiyev,
Do you connect to Multidimensional model or Tabular model? What version of SQL Server Analysis Service do you connect to?
Please note that servers must be running SQL Server 2012 SP1 CU4 or later versions of Analysis Services for the Power BI Desktop SSAS MD connector to work properly in live connection mode.
Regards,
Lydia

I connect to multidimensional model. Version of Sql Analysis server is 14.0.1.
I found this issue when I installed 32 bit version of PBI desktop. Because 64 bit version gave me error clr20r3 while launch. As one of the suggestions I found is to change version.

@ysapiyev,
Do you use 32 bit or 64 bit SQL Server? How about you use Power BI desktop May release to connect to the SSAS database?

Lydia

I have SQL Server 2017 64 bit. May version is not compatible with Report Server, therefore I can't use it.

@ysapiyev,
What do you mean "May version is not compatible with Report Server"? Do you use Power BI Desktop report server or Power BI Desktop? What is the full error message when you use 64 bit Power BI Desktop?
Regards,
Lydia
