Hi,
I'm not able to connect to SQL Server using my Admin ID in Power BI.
I can only connect using the ID I'm logged on to the Windows.
If I Shift+Right Click and then 'Run as different user' for PowerBI.exe, then I can login through the oter user.
My question is, why do we have the option to use alternate credentials if we can't use alternate credentials!! (I'm thinking this is because of the Active Directory / SSO but still it's weird!)
Solved! Go to Solution.
I have tried the Database option as well!
I get the same error message I've shared in the image.
It doesn't connect to DB using some other credentials until I go to the installation directory of Power BI and Shift+RichtClick -> 'Run as different user'.
i.e. I have to Run Power BI as different user if I want to login using some other credentials!
Hi @Anonymous ,
Please use the database option and check again.

How were you specifying your credentials?
username
domain\username
username@domain.com
?
I have tried with all three.
